Geocaching started in 2000 up yonder in the hills with a bunch of bored hikers and climbers with nothin' to do. One feller got an idea to use his GPS unit to hide somethin' in the woods and dared another fella to find it just using the coordinates he gave him, plus a few clues. Well, he found it and was hooked ever since.
A few years later, girls and fellers alike were hidin' stuff all over the woods...all over the world. Darin' everyone else to find the treasures if they could. Yep, took off like a dog with his tail on fire, I tell ya'. Long story short, you use yer' GPS unit to find the booty in the woods. Sometimes it's an ammo can, tupperware or just a log book location.
Let me tell you fellers this though, it sure is fun! Youngin's especially love it cause' there's usually a toy or two for them to take with em'. Now here's the catch... If you take sumthin' you best be puttin' somethin' back for the next feller to find. It's courtesy and it keeps it going. They even put trackable items such as geocoins and geobugs so you can get online and see how far they have gone! These guys are like hitchhikers on yer' britches, you just put em' in the next bin you go to! Easy... all you need is good hikin' gear, safety equipment and an accurate GPS unit.
